“Thank you for your great hospitality, the very warm welcome, the special treats, the little surprises in the morning – we felt comfortable and enjoyed our stay at the most!! We certainly would love to come back”
Breakfast is left for you in the kitchen with fresh eggs, freshly baked bread, home-made jams, yoghurt, cereals and fresh fruit – much of it organic or out of our extensive kitchen garden, which you can enjoy at your leisure.
On arrival you will find fresh milk and filtered, bottled water in the fridge, along with the ingredients for a fabulous, mostly organic and locally sourced wherever possible continental breakfast for you to enjoy at your leisure. Eggs tend to be laid by our own chickens. We order our meat, mostly organic, from our excellent local butcher, and we supply most of the fresh fruit and vegetables from our own extensive kitchen garden whenever possible.
Make yourself a mug of Pukka tea or enjoy a Nespresso coffee, and curl yourself up on the enormous sofa and read one of the many books on the shelves or a recent magazine. We also have an extensive DVD and CD library, which we are happy to let you explore and borrow from during your stay.
And please do let us know any special dietary requirements you might have, or any allergies, when you are making your booking. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request and to ensure you really enjoy your stay with us.
Also, if agreed in advance and at additional cost, we are happy to cook other meals for you and to leave them in the fridge for you to enjoy at your own leisure, also to arrange picnic baskets, etc. Sample menus, further details and prices are available on request.
It is important to us that our guests feel that Churchgate is a home from home, not just a boutique b&b, so one of us tends to pop over to the cottage on a daily basis to keep breakfast essentials topped up and maybe even to leave a small surprise, whether fresh produce from our extensive kitchen garden or something freshly baked in our Aga.
